Things I believe in.

WARNING: If you are an Eastanallee Baptist college Sunday School attendant, please do not read this until after church tomorrow. Thanks, loves. <3

I’m teaching Sunady school tomorrow, and I’m freaking nervous about it, which is kind of silly- Very silly, actually. At any rate. College students (people my age) scare me the most to teach. I feel like they’re judging me with every word that comes out, which they probably are. That’s okay, I guess. I just am a terrible teacher hahaha. I would rather discuss, but I’m terrible at provoking discussion.

Anyway, after considering what to do, and with some very gracious help from my sister-in-law, Carrie, and her dad (who is a college pastor), Joe, I think I’ve come up with an idea, and I’m mainly just using this post to get out some of my thoughts.

#1. Write at least 3 things (absolutely nor religious involvement) that you believe in, and why you believe in them.

#2. Write down 3 things that you believe about God’s character from your OWN experience: not something from the Bible.

#3 Write one thing you believe about Jesus’ character from your OWN experience: not something from the Bible.

#5 Write how you think God feels about you right now.

#6 Read:

  • About God’s character: Ps. 90:2, 1 Peter 3:8, Deuteronomy  10:12-21, 1 John 3:20, Psalm 139:16, Romans 11:33, Ps. 100:5, 1 John 4:16, Romans 5:8, Exodus 34:6, 2 Corinthians 1:3, Psalm 103:8, Psalm 99:9, Exodus 32:9-10, 1 John 3:36, 1 Corinthians 14:37, Deuteronomy 32:4, Exodus 20:5-6, Exodus 34:14, Matthew 5:48, Psalm 18:30, Psalm 27:4.
  • About how God feels about our desires: John 15:1, Psalm 37:4-7, Ephesians 3:20-21, Psalm 20:4, Psalm 145:19, Proverbs 10:24
  • Abotu God’s desires: Isaiah 58:10, Hosea 6:6, Matthew 9:13, 1 Samuel 16:7, Matthew 6:21
  • About the character of Jesus: Matthew 11:29, Luke 23:24, John 8:50, Matthew 9:10, Luke 15:1-2, Matthew 20:28.
  • About how he feels about us: Psalm 103, 1 Peter 5:7, Ephesians 2:4-5, Jeremiah 29:11, Jeremiah 31:3, John 15:9, 1 John 4:9-10

The point is: God created each of us uniquely. We can tell that by our outward appearances. No one looks exactly alike. If that’s the case, then why would our feelings, hopes, fears, desires, passions look alike? They don’t. In fact, we’re all INSANELY different. No two people have the same desires, like the same foods, want the same future. God created you and made you unique, and he wants you to be a part of His master plan. He gave you the desiers you have so that you can work through Him for his glory. That’s why we’re here. To use the gifts, passions, and goals that we have to glorify Him and His love to all people. But, our desires should match up with His and they will match up with His if we “abide” in Him and He in us. When that is true, our desires WILL bring him glory and will not be self seeking.
