Toooooday.

  • Woke up at 10ish.
  • Immediately drove to dad’s, had leftover Ming Dynasty, bathed
  • Spent a couple of hours getting laundry done and packing for Big Creek
  • At 3, headed to TWC and played a little freezing volleyball, along with some ping pong of course.
  • Sidenote: I will beat Brian Burkett at ping pong before Friday.
  • At about 6, I went and had supper with mom and Claire.
  • Came home and chilled out at dad’s. By chilled out i mean:
  • Wheel of Fortune, Jeopardy, It’s Kind of a Funny Story, and Facebook.
  • Found out that i was assigned James 5:19-20 to do my devotion in front of staff on. I’m insanely nervous. I don’t know how to teach. Help!

That was my day, May 17th! :) Just under 3 days until Big Creek.

Praying for my friends Megan McIlvaine and Todd Smith who are leaving tomorrow for their summer camps!

First summer blog.

Here’s the plan: keep a blog going over the summer (even/especially when i’m at big creek). Today will be my first official day of doing this. I will tell about the activities i did and any other important things that made an impact on me. :) Ready? Let’s get this thing started.

Today, my Mamaw rode in the car with me for the first time. I drove to Turkey Creek to meet my aunt (her daughter) Debbie, who is an incredible, beautiful woman, i might add. We did a little shopping. I only window shopped, but that’s neither here nor there. Mamaw bought a few cute outfits.

We went to Altar’d State (http://www.altardstate.com/) Which is only my favorite store in the entire universe. They carry “Natural Life” trinkets which seriously could send me spiraling straight to bankruptcy if i ever give in just a little. We ate at Red Robin. For the record, I had a ‘Shroom Burger, and it was too delicious. After a fun visit in a shoe store, we went to Border’s, which is a magical land for me. Coffee. Books. Cool people. Chill atmosphere. That’s where it’s at. I love going to Border’s. It’s really really really relaxing, and an escape for me. Weird, I know. After Border’s, we said our goodbye’s, and I took Mamaw home.

After I got home, I started wasting time. Luckily, however, somebody posted in our volleyball crew group that there was volleyball at 5. I got excited, scratched my napping plans, got ready, and headed to TWC to play a little v-ball. We didn’t really have enough people to get a good game going. However, it was still fun kicking around in the sand with my new friend Lizie! :) Afterward, we played a little ping pong, wasted a lot of time, and eventually went to Western Sizzlin.

After I got home, i read a little in It’s Kind of a Funny Story, and then watched The Switch with Rhonda. I LOVE that movie. The kid is so freakin’ adorable (see here: http://bit.ly/mNXPub). Favorite line: “Oh my God. I have that.” :)

Now. Bed. That was a way too long story line of a way too normal day. Haha. However, this day made me extremely happy. Family. Friends. Good times. Good laughs. Exercise. Love. :) <3
